Who is Carl

I have been learning how to make computers do what I want since I was about seven years old.

Computer’s only really do what they have been told, no more, no less. The trick, I have found, is telling them to do the right thing.

Sometimes, if I can’t tell the computer to do the right thing, I take my mind off of that by trying to make something in the physical world do what I want. This is a lot harder, as physical material is often unyielding compared to the bits inside a computer

If I can’t make the computer do what I want, and I can’t make wood do what I want, I might just write down some words. Any words will do. That takes the gremlins that are feeding on my creativity out of my brain and puts them somewhere so I can move on for the moment. They will return eventually, and so I will eventually start the process again.
